Eight months of consistency… 'BOOM'

Firstly, I hope the title of this post isn't taken as a genuine 'boom'. Anyone who knows me will know my feelings on such behaviour! lol.

As the main European leagues draw to a close for another year I thought it was a good time to make a quick post reviewing the season and the progression of the Goal List.

Since starting in October 2012, the list has featured over 600 selections and achieved consistent goal averages every month, the blog has had over 70,000 visits, two honest and detailed reports totalling 62 pages have been written investigating trends and profitable angles and we have now given report buyers access to a the ‘Goal List Prep spreadsheet’ which uses poisson calculation to allow for some nice additional pre game research.

I’m not aware of any other blog or website which has done so much to help those who want to take their betting or trading to the next level by giving them the tools to improve themselves rather than just drop selections into their inbox (nothing wrong with this by the way if that’s the way you want to go about things).

It has been a hell of a journey this season and I’m immensely proud of the achievements so far. From the very start I have tried to do something different to the thousands of other's out there and i'm so glad that so many have recognised that and bought into the Goal List idea.

Just a few nice stats: the highest scoring Goal List match this season was the 7-3 between Arsenal and Newcastle on the 29th December. But along the way we’ve seen two 5-4’s, five 5-3’s, a 6-2, a 6-3, a 7-1 and a 7-0… the list goes on! This month alone we’ve had 11/45 selections (24%) go over 4.5 goals.

Of course those who have purchased the Goal List report will know that profits can be made even in the matches that aren’t goal fests. And I also know that many of those who chose not to buy the report(s) have nailed down their own profitable approaches to the selections and that’s great too. More power to you guys!

A bit of housekeeping, a few people have asked about the average price for over 2.5 goals for Goal List selections. It is understandable as anyone can see that goals are expected if the odds are 1.30 etc… So here is a quick table showing the average odds for certain goal markets in Goal List matches over the 600 game sample:

Goals
Average price
Over 2.5
1.71
Over 3.5
2.77
Over 4.5
5.23

The reason for this post is really to explain what is going to happen now the main European leagues have finished. The following ‘summer’ leagues already have selections in the Goal List

  • Sweden - Allsvenskan
  • Sweden - Superettan
  • Japan - J1 League
  • Finland - Veikkausliiga
  • Norway - Eliteserien

The intention is to continue posting selections over the summer months in all of the above leagues.

The nature of the Goal List selection process means we need to wait until a few games have been played so selections will be posted starting Saturday 1st June. Until then I’ll be having some much needed time off :-)

If you have any ideas for improving the Goal List or would like to see anything added for next season I really would love to hear them. Please drop me an email at thegoallist@live.com I reply to everyone.
